NEW Books for Spring!

Spring Books at Book Bouquet

We promise Spring has arrived!  And with it a new group of books to choose from at Book Bouquet.

Spring holidays include Mother's Day and Father's Day so our quick reviews will focus on finding the right book for Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa!

Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment with your favorite book choices.

Books for Mom and Grandma:

At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen, the author of Water for Elephants.  At the Water’s Edge is a gripping and poignant love story about a privileged young woman’s awakening as she experiences the devastation of World War II in a tiny village in the Scottish Highlands.

Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum is a book I'm super excited about!  Jill Alexander Essbaum’s debut novel is an unforgettable story of marriage, fidelity, sex, morality, and most especially self. Navigating the lines between lust and love, guilt and shame, excuses and reasons, Anna Benz is an electrifying heroine whose passions and choices readers will debate with recognition and fury. Her story reveals, with honesty and great beauty, how we create ourselves and how we lose ourselves and the sometimes disastrous choices we make to find ourselves.

Last One Home by Debbie Macomber author of Blossom Street and Cedar Cove series, delivers an inspiring new stand-alone novel about the enduring bond between sisters, the power of forgiveness, and a second chance at love.

Books for Dad and Grandpa:

Unplayable Lies by Golf Digest writer Dan Jenkins. "I've always wanted to do something for the golfer who has everything. I thought about a suede golf cart, or maybe a pair of cashmere Footjoys. Then I settled on writing this book." So begins Dan Jenkins's latest—and funniest—collection of golf essays.

The Assassin by Clive Cussler is an Isaac Bell adventure.  Combine Sherlock Holmes and James Bond and you've got main character Isaac Bell.  Page turning action and heart pounding mystery make the Clive Cussler books bestsellers as soon as they come out.

The Patriot Threat by Steve Berry is an adventure mystery that fans of National Treasure (Nicholas Cage movie) will really love.   Non-stop adventure is trademark Steve Berry--90% historical fact, 10% exciting speculation--a provocative thriller.

Books for Both Men and Women:

The Stranger by Harlan Coben is a page turning psychological thriller.  Adam Price has a lot to lose: a comfortable marriage to a beautiful woman, two wonderful sons, and all the trappings of the American Dream: a big house, a good job, a seemingly perfect life.  Then he runs into the Stranger. When he learns a devastating secret about his wife, Corinne, he confronts her, and the mirage of perfection disappears as if it never existed at all. Soon Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corinne’s deception, and realizes that if he doesn’t make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he’s stumbled into will not only ruin lives—it will end them.

The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins is a psychological thriller that fans of Gone Girl will love!  It's the best of mystery writing leaving you guessing til the end!  Put this one on your must read list.

Live Right and Find Happiness by Dave Barry is a laugh out loud collection of new writing from humorist Dave Barry.

H is for Hawk by Helen Macdonald is hard to categorize, but worth trying.  Hawk has won two book awards and is a NY Time's bestseller, and yet it's the story of training a hawk.  Actually Hawk is the story of how a woman overcome with grief turns to nature to find her way out.  If you liked the movie Wild with Reese Witherspoon you'll love this book.
