An interview with author, Melody Stevens on her new book

Q:  "Time Millionaire" is such a great name, how did you come up with it?
A:  Actually, the name Time Millionaire came out of a savor the success meeting in NJ. I went into the meeting wondering what to do next in business. My current businesses (music schools) were up and running smoothly almost without me, and I had also begun to drop some of my bad habits like chronic yo yo dieting and complaining to people. frankly, I was bored.

So I said in the meeting, wow, I'm really time wealthy. In fact, I have so much free time on my hands I feel like a time millionaire! That's when Angela jia Kim, founder of Savor the Success, said "That's the name of your next business!

And so that's how Time Millionaire got it's name and I've been writing, coaching, and speaking all over the place ever since.

Q:  Time is our most precious commodity so how do you help people to stop wasting it?
A:   I help people first define their deepest desires and dreams, then I help them identify where they are wasting time. I often have my clients do a one week time log. Then we come up with mindset strategies and practical tricks for sticking to priorities and moving away from the time wasting habits.

Q:  What's the easiest tip to implement around the house?
A:  One of the easiest tips to implement around the house is to plan TV time. TV can be fun and entertaining, educational even, but when used as a default it wastes a lot of time. So, planned TV watching only....stick to your favorite shows and try not to watch more than one or two hours at a time.


Q:  I know you've interviewed many CEO's for your Huffington Post column, who was your favorite and why?
A:  I really enjoyed interviewing the CEOs. One of my favorite interviews was with CEO Mike McNally of Skanska USA. He was so warm and personable over the phone. I loved when he said, "You have to BE what you want your company to be." many of the other CEOs I interviewed echoed McNally's statement as well. 

Q:  What inspired you to write this book?
A:  This book is based on a compilation of two years of my weekly ezine articles. I had a keynote speaking engagement a few weeks ago and I decided that in order for the participants to have something to take home with them that could benefit them in a big way, I needed a book. So, a friend of mine, Getrude Matshe had this "write your book in 40 hours" program complete  with template...I knew I could use my time wealth and get this book done within the time frame so I jumped at the chance!
