Corduroy was written and illustrated by Caldecott Medal winner, Don Freeman back in 1968 and is another beloved character and story that has stood the test of time. The story of a little stuffed bear waiting on a department store shelf for his special someone.

A Favorite Author
Eric Carle has been creating beautiful books with collage art since 1967 when he illustrated Brown Bear, Brown Bear which was written by Bill Martin, Jr. Then in 1969 he wrote and illustrated The Very Hungry Caterpillar which has been a children's favorite ever since.
